Origins Of The MCU
Originally known as Timely Comics, it wasn’t until 1939 when Martin Goodman founded Marvel Comics. Marvel’s comic book era began in 1961 with the release of The Fantastic Four #1, introduced by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

The Comics Brought To Life
In 2008, the MCU was brought to life with the release of Iron Man, beginning Phase One of the expansive universe. This tells the origins of “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” Tony Stark.
Following the success of Iron Man’s debut, The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), and The Avengers (2012) would go on to conclude the first phase of the MCU.
Throughout the years, there have been dozens of sequels and fresh-faced instalments, bringing a variety of recognisable characters to the big screen: Black Panther (2018), Captain Marvel (2019), Black Widow (2021), Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings (2021), Eternals (2021), and others.
