Halo is a science fiction media franchise, created by Bungie and developed by 343 Industries. We were first introduced to the first-person shooter back in 2001 with the release of Halo: Combat Evolved. Set in the twenty-sixth century, the story follows the role of Master Chief, a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier (code-named Spartans) who was raised and trained from childhood for combat.
Master Chief and an army of humans discover Halo, causing them to be involved in a galactic war against the Covenant.
Halo has since become one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time. These strong sales led to the franchise's expansion to other media: novels, comic books, television series, films, and other licensed products.
Along with the Chief, we have been introduced to some major characters, including Cortana, Sgt. Johnson, the Arbiter, and many more who all contribute to the legacy of this game.
Throughout the franchise, Master Chief goes head-to-head with an alien monarchy trying to destroy Earth, an extragalactic parasite known as the Flood, and many more alien factions looking to kill humanity.
